OHLA committees are essential in driving new programs, services, and initiatives that enhance the association's value for its members.

These committees foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and help OHLA maintain its leadership in the hospitality industry. Whether you are passionate about shaping educational initiatives, planning events, advocating for legislative changes, or promoting unique lodging, there’s a committee where you can make a difference.

OHLA’s nine committees include:

Allied Working Group

This council is represented by diverse industries that make up our Allied Member Network. Promoting connections, developing resource tools & education opportunities and focusing on the annual conference experience for both allied and property members are at the core of their activities.

Innovation & Tech Committee

This is a brand new committee opportunity with a focus on keeping the organization, its members and the industry up to date with the latest emerging hotel & lodging industry initiatives and technology as it relates to programming, opportunities, and communications.

Events & Annual Conference Committee

Involved in critical decision-making efforts, the recruitment of industry speakers, development of hotelier education, and the formation of marketing strategies for OHLA year-round programming & annual conference.

Emerging Professionals

This committee is focused on the career and personal development of hotel & lodging associates new to the industry through the creation of new programming, education, and networking opportunities.

Education & Workforce Development Committee

Works with educational institutions from grade school to collegiate levels, community entities, and partners at the national hotel & lodging association to provide continuing programming opportunities to hospitality associates.

Unique Lodging of Ohio Council

This council assists the unique lodging community by increasing the visibility, marketability and recognition of professional, unique and independent properties in Ohio through programming, membership functions, and promotional opportunities.

Government Affairs Committee

Provides the organization insight and industry guidance regarding government affairs to ensure hoteliers at all levels are heard in order to champion safety and produce favorable public policy. The committee also helps plan and host events to help strengthen the Ohio Hotel PAC and in support of elected officials who support our industry.

Women in Lodging Advisory Council

Oversees the WIL CONNECT program that enables the personal and professional development of women through education and leadership development opportunities to achieve personal and professional career growth.

Membership Committee

Focuses on new member recruitment and growing retention among members through staying in touch with current developments & trends, discussing opportunities for education & networking and exploring current and new member benefits. This committee hosts member-related activities such as mixers and volunteer opportunities. OHLA is also expanding opportunities for Select/Economy/Limited Service members through this committee.
